11^th Grade Syllabus תשפ"א

5 Point Regular classes- 4 academic hours a week

השנה תלמידינו נבחנים במודול E  בבחינת הבגרות באנגלית שהיא אחת מתוך 3 בחינות חיצוניות . את השתיים האחרות ( מודול G והבחינה הממוחשבת בעלפה COBE  ) יעשו בי"ב. כמו בכתה יוד, התלמידים ימשיכו את תכנית הלימוד בספרות אנגלית  ובסוף שנה זו ינתן להם ציון על שתי היצירות ושני יומני הקריאה. ציון זה ישמר להם לקראת MODULE F  וישוקלל בסוף י"ב יחד עם ציוני סוף כתה יוד וי"ב בספרות אנגלית.

Language Coursebook: Linking Lines by Arbeiman H, & Keinan A, (UPP)+ Practice Book

Literature Program*: One poem and one short story in 5 Point Literature Program Option 1 (UPP)

New Practical Grammar for Proficiency by M. Dray J. Koren & T. Ronen (ECB)

Students will read two books of their choice (if simplified – level 6 is the minimum required)

Semester 1

Language: Students will study Topic vocabulary, improve their reading comprehension and writing skills through units 1-3 in Linking Lines.

Students will enhance Listening and speaking through class conversations about News reports, online activities including responding to video clips and interviewing tasks.

Students will submit one in-class “book report”

Literature: Introduction to Poetry by Billy Collins (poem)

                      Mr. Know All by Somerset Maugham (short story)

Semester 2

Language: Students will study Topic vocabulary, improve their reading comprehension and writing skills through units 4-5 in Linking Lines.

Students will enhance their command of Grammar, improve their Listening and speaking skills through class conversations about News reports, online activities including responding to their peers’ oral presentations on various topics.

Students will submit another in-class “book report”

Bagrut Practice:  Students will work on their test taking skills for Module E which includes a reading comprehension passage and a listening comprehension passage.

• The Literature program for 5 pointers includes on the whole 6 items, namely- 2 poems, 3 short stories and a play! The grade for module F is internal and based not only on the summative assessment (tests) but also classwork and tasks assigned for homework.
